Fatherly advice from Calendly team members
The wisdom and life lessons we gain from our parents and throughout parenthood are truly invaluable. To give thanks to all the dads in the world this Father’s Day, we are highlighting not only our inspiring Calendlian fathers but also those who have learned vital life lessons from their fathers throughout childhood. Hear what our employees had to say below.
Provide unconditional love.
“You’ll make mistakes as a dad. But providing unconditional love is at least half of doing it right.”
– Josh Kimball, Manager, Data Science
The importance of being there for those you care about most.
“When my father would wake up at 4:00 a.m. to go to work early, I always found it funny, as I was not a morning person and couldn’t imagine myself waking up that early every day for a job. I later learned he went to work early so that he could be home with us for dinner and our activities each night. I can’t recall him ever missing a theater performance or a sports game. I’ve learned from my father the importance of showing up for those in your care.”
– Jeff Hardison, Head of Product Marketing
At the end of the day, your family will always be there for you no matter what.
"My son Jack and daughter Isla are 16 months apart. Currently at ages 4.5 and 3 years old, there is inevitable and constant bickering as they both try to navigate their new sense of selves playing with one another so close in age. Ed is always quick to remind them how important it is for them to take care and love each other because there may be times in their lives where family is all they have. Friends may come and go but family is forever."
– Ashleigh Joyce, Employer Brand Manager
