As an Engineering Manager of Cloud Infrastructure, you will lead a team of SREs, platform and security engineers in the creation, support, and evolution of the cloud technology supporting a hyper growth SaaS solution. In partnership with architecture, development, product, and business stakeholders, you set the foundation on which everyone else builds. Your team strives for excellence in observability, reliability, and security. 

At Calendly, you will take your previous experience in SaaS cloud expertise (e.g. GCP, AWS, IaaS) to the next level as you drive efficiency through automated continuous deployment pipelines that deploy to highly available distributed systems powered by codified repositories. What are some of the high impact opportunities you’ll tackle? 

  • Guide technical solutions through collaborative design, pairing, and code review
  • Enhance our infrastructure offering by applying industry best practices and processes
  • Brainstorm solutions and refine the scope of infrastructure footprint
  • Coach, mentor and onboard new team members
  • Identify and coordinate incident response, security reviews, and infrastructure training 
  • Ensure the career development, satisfaction and productivity of your team
  • Identify future technical needs and create plans to meet them
  • Oversee educational initiatives to provide resources to the engineering organization to evangelize DevOps and observability best practices
  • Provide input to help us continuously grow and improve

This opportunity is for you if you have/are:

  • 8+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and/or software development
  • 2+ years in a management role or a technical lead role
  • Experience in managing large scale, highly available cloud infrastructure
  • Expertise in designing and evangelizing secure deployment policies, procedures, and processes   
  • Experience helping to make technical decisions and providing guidance to solve problems 
  • Academic background in computer science or equivalent work experience
  • Previous experience working with cross functional teams and implementing solutions 
  • Professional experience working with SaaS applications
  • You are a great communicator who can succinctly explain complex technical concepts
  • You stay up to date on the latest technologies and strategies
  • Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time

Bonus if you have experience with:

  • Experience working with a fully remote organization
  • Experience with GCP, kubernetes, and terraform
  • Experience with zero trust and other cloud native security best practices
  • Experience working with build systems (Buildkite, Jenkins, TravisCI, etc.)
