What is Calendly?

Calendly takes the work out of scheduling so our customers have more time to work on what’s really important. Our software is used by millions of people worldwide—with thousands more signing up every day. To maintain this exciting growth, we’re looking for top talent to join our team and help shape the future of our product.

Why join Calendly’s Engineering team?

As a Full Stack Engineer with a focus in security at Calendly, you have the chance to hone your craft with the best and brightest engineers in the world. You should be equally comfortable pair programming and working autonomously, in addition to troubleshooting independently and receiving direct feedback during a code review. As a member of the platform team, you impact all aspects of the development process from ideation, design, delivery, maintenance, and operations. We all rally around a focus on delivering a great experience to our customers as our first priority.

Our ideal candidate has a strong interest in securing and validating software and is looking to grow their knowledge of security best practices across multiple technologies, such as Ruby on Rails, React, Postgres, NodeJS, and more.

In addition, this individual has experience with one or more technologies used by SaaS companies. We prefer experience with agile methodologies and web development. They will need to be a clear communicator, highly self-motivated, eager to collaborate and exchange knowledge, and pitch in for tasks the team needs to ship new code.

What are some of the high impact opportunities you’ll tackle?

  • Protect and secure amazing features for millions of Calendly users
  • Actively engage with product, engineering, and QA regarding security strategy
  • Automate code analysis and vulnerability checks within the continuous deployment pipeline
  • Write and review implementation plans to incorporate security requirements
  • Collaborate with the support team on customer issues
  • Participate in stand-ups, design reviews, story-writing and retrospectives
  • Collaborate with the support team on customer issues
  • Organize and participate in penetration testing, bug bounties, and security review processes
  • Contribute to security and compliance initiatives by working with other security-focused teams to provide evidence and document practices

This opportunity is for you if you have/are:

  • 4+ years of Software Development experience at a SaaS or technology company
  • Experience with SAST/DAST and OWASP top ten detection methods is preferred, however knowledge and a keen interest in learning is also acceptable
  • Experience with pair programming, code analysis, vulnerability remediation
  • Experience in modern JavaScript application frameworks (React, Angular, Backbone, Node, Ember, etc)
  • Strive to craft secure, reliable and highly maintainable code
  • Experience working with a team using Agile methodologies and Scrum
  • Experience with source control systems (prefer Github)
  • Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time

Bonus if you have:

  • Experience working with a fully remote organization
  • Experience with GCP, kubernetes, and terraform
  • Experience with zero trust and other cloud native security best practices
  • Experience working with build systems (Buildkite, Jenkins, TravisCI, etc..)

Calendly is registered as an employer in many, but not all, states. If you are not located in or able to work from a state where Calendly is registered, you will not be eligible for employment.
